Course Description: (3) Theoretical concepts applicable to the theory of computing. Topics covered will be from the areas of: formal logic and proofs, sets, matrix algebra, relations and functions, recurrence relations, and graph theory.
Prerequisite: MATH 105, 111 or 120.
Calculator: Portions of the exams and homework may require a graphing calculator such as the TI-86.

Note: Make up tests will be given only under extraordinary circumstances. If you miss an exam, you must obtain a written excuse from the Dean of Undergraduate Studies.
Grading Policy: There will be two midterms on: Monday, September 22,
and Monday, November 10.
Each midterm will be worth 20%, the final will be worth 40% and the
homework 20%. The lower bound percentages for the various
grades are
