Discrete Models for Intraspecific Competitions (Kbenesh Blayneh, Florida A&M University)

Abstract: A coupled pair of first order nonlinear discrete hierarchical age-structured models are applied to study two modes of intraspecific competitions. Several comparisons of the dynamical outcomes of the two competitions are made. These include existence and uniqueness of nontrivial equilibria, type of convergence (monotone or oscillatory), and the impact of environmental conditions on these results. Also, the effect of dispersion to and from neighboring habitatsevel are studied.
